REV NIMS OBUNGE

“If you think you are leading and no one is following you, you are just taking a walk.  Put an end to strolling and really take the lead!”

Rev Nims Obunge is the Pastor of Freedoms Ark Church and also serves as the Chief Executive of the Peace Alliance which is a national crime reduction charity working on a local and national basis in partnership with faith, community & statutory organisations, the police, and councils.

His experience as a leader extends beyond his work as a Pastor and Chief Executive into his involvement on various boards and associations such as the Home Office Round Table on Gun Crime, The Metropolitan Police Trident Independent Advisory Group, the

National Crack Advisory Board and the London Crimestoppers Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Metropolitan PoliceAssociation scrutiny panel on Stop & Search and chairs the Criminal Justice Board’s (CJB) Advisory Group. His drive and leadership often results in him being consulted by senior Home Office and Scotland Yard officials on issues related to ethnicity, diversity, young people and crime.

Perhaps of particular note, Rev. Nims Obunge has had the initiative to lead the Peace Alliance to launch a Week of Peace.  This event began in 2001 locally in the borough of Haringey and has subsequently grown into a London wide event involving various boroughs and engaging several thousand Londoners in Peace activities across the city.   His passion is to see a united governing church impacting every sector of society.
