Dionne Gravesande is the Head of Church Relationships at Christian Aid. Christian Aid was set up in 1945 to unite the mission efforts of churches. One of key aims of Christian Aid is mobilising the prophetic voice and activity of the Church to speak out and act against evil and injustice in society. In addition to overseeing Christian Aid’s work with the traditional mainstream churches in England, Dionne’s role is to work alongside the growing black Pentecostal churches exploring new ways of connecting faith and action. Dionne is the first black woman to hold the office within Christian Aid.
Dionne’s background is in youth and community and social care. She committed her life to Christ in 1994 and has been a member of the New Testament Church of God since, and over 12 years has served the church in a variety of positions. Dionne currently serves as a National Youth and Christian Education Board Member leading in the area of Training and Development and she is a Missions Co-ordinator at her local church in Northampton.
