ST ALFEGE, GREENWICH
St Alfege Church stands at the heart of historic Greenwich and has a fine reputation for music-making. The church is named after the martyr, Alfege, who died for justice in the 11th century. When his captors demanded gold from him, he is well known for replying "The Gold I give you is the Word of God".
