We are delighted to announce that Burma VJ is the winner of I Will Tell 2009
Special thanks to Nang Seng from the Burma Campaign UK who led the post-screening discussion, making an impassioned plea for us to use our freedom to help the people in her country find theirs.
Most of all though, we owe a huge debt of gratitude to the brave journalists at the DVB, without whom the film would not have been possible.

In 2007, foreign news crews were banned, the Internet was shut down, and Burma was closed to the outside world. Yet overnight, it became headline news across the globe. Thanks to the Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB), a tenacious band of Burmese reporters faced down torture, life in jail and even death to expose the repressive regime controlling their country. Armed with small handycams the Burma VJs stop at nothing to make their reportages. The whole world has witnessed some of their single event clips, but for the very first time, their individual images have been carefully put together and at once, they tell a much bigger story.
Post-screening discussion with Nang Seng (Burma Campaign, UK) and Deborah Burton (Tipping point Film Fund).
