Deborah has a mix of experience in arts programming, film development and production, events and campaigning. She first worked for London based UNESCO backed African publications before moving on to programme international film and arts festivals at various London venues.
A change of direction took her into the NGO sector as both fundraiser and campaigner and in 2004, she joined Christian Aid’s Trade Justice campaign delivering high profile events as well as working on film and TV projects focused on trade issues – including Black Gold, Bamako, and Great African Scandal, with Dr Robert Beckford (for C4).
In late 2008 she left Christian Aid to co-found Tipping Point Film Fund – a non profit fund aimed at creating a new revenue source from the general public to back quality, mainstream social issue feature documentaries addressing major issues of our time, with a particular focus on global economic, environmental and social justice themes.
